●      $3,000 stipend for completing the Externship

Application Submission

About the Project

Led by the Center of Excellence for Marine Manufacturing & Technology, serving as the Career Connect Washington Maritime Sector Lead, the Statewide K12 Externship Project is developed in partnership with ESD 113 and the Washington Student Achievement Council. We are pleased to announce the K12 Externship, a summer 2024 professional development opportunity for K12 CTE, comprehensive high school and Skill Center faculty, to work with a maritime industry partner for a 1-week paid externship experience.

Faculty will work in a maritime environment to learn about the maritime industry, and career pathway opportunities that can be shared in their classrooms.

 Externship Program Goals

●      Provide experiential, first-hand learning opportunities to share with students.

●      Educators will build relationships with industry that will support classroom activities and student engagement with industry.

●      Increased awareness of maritime career pathways and education/training opportunities.

●      Develop open-resource modules to support career exploration, preparatory and launch opportunities.
